The funeral slab is marked on the front side with an inscription engraved in Cyrillic characters. It was discovered in the Orthodox cemetery, in the foundation of the current church nave. The funeral inscription reads as follows:
"POMENEȘTE D(oa)mne / PRE ADORMITUL ROBUL TĂU / ANDREI, ELIEI ȘI ION / ÎNTRU ÎMPĂRĂȚIA / TA AMIN. / FIIND ACESTORA PĂ/ RINȚI PASCU SI/ MION ȘI IRINĂ / AU RĂDICATU ACEAS/ TĂ SF(in)TĂ CRUCE / A(nno) 1754 SEP(tembrie) 5 ZILE."
("Remember, O Lord, / Your departed servants / Andrei, Elie, and Ion / in Your kingdom. Amen. / Being their parents / Pascu Simion and Irina / raised this / holy cross / in the year 1754, September 5th.")
