35. Gothic Censer, Metropolitan Museum of Cluj, Cluj-Napoca, "Assumption of the Virgin Mary" Orthodox Church, Vad (Cluj County), 15th Century

The episcopal church and monastery "Assumption of the Virgin Mary" in Vad were founded at the initiative of the rulers of Moldavia, either at the end of the 15th century during the reign of Stephen the Great, or in the mid-16th century during the time of Petru Rareș, on the domain of Ciceu Fortress, which was in their possession. The church's censer is a rare Gothic piece with a square base and an octagonal body with concave sides. The upper part features a circular opening for holding the embers in the altar.
