32. Saint John of Nepomuk, Cluj-Napoca, A. Şaguna Street No. 1, First Half of the 18th Century

The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk was discovered in the first half of the 20th century in the courtyard of the Jewish prayer house on Tăbăcarilor Street (now A. Şaguna Street). The figure of the saint is depicted in a contrapposto stance, wearing the specific vestments of a canon, including a toga and mantle, rendered with rich folds. The location where the statue of the saint, who is the protector of bridges and against floods, was found suggests that it was originally placed near the bridge over the Canalul Morii, likely close to the later prayer house.
