Funerary inscription; place of discovery: Gherla (Cluj County); 2nd - 3rd century AD.

Profiled funerary plaque, containing an inscription. This is the only epigraphic mention of the gods of fate in all of Roman Dacia. They are referred to, in the text, as Fata. The expression plus Fata vetarunt emphasizes the pitiless character of these gods of fate, who ended the life of Aelia Ingenua. The TE ligature is seen in quite a few words: terra, parentes, mater.

Inscription: Ael(ia) Ingenua e[---]/inis Iris hic iac[et ---] / sub terra mis[era? ---] / alita es in ann[is] / plus Fata veta[runt ---]/ iam nulla est [---] / parentes mater [---].
