Funerary medallion; place of discovery: Gilău (Cluj County); 2nd century AD.
Uniquely crafted medallion, with a shell-shaped recess surrounded by a corona. Inside it, we see the busts of a couple: a man and a woman. At the top of the piece, there is a pine cone, and at the bottom, made from the same block, we can see its support system (the extension at the bottom was embedded firmly into the ground to hold the medallion up-right and offer it stability). The piece has minium residue on the surface.
