Votive relief dedicated to Mithras; place of discovery: Potaissa? (Turda, Cluj County); 2nd - 3rd century AD.
Mithraic relief with rounded upper edge, on which Mithras is depicted in the taurochthony scene. Below the bull’s body appear the serpent and the scorpion biting him on the testicles, while in front of him there is a dog biting him on the chest. On Mithras’ mantle is a raven. The god is flanked by the two dadophores – Cautes and Cautopates, each holding a torch pointing up/down. Above the whole scene are the sun and the moon, and between them a lion’s protome.
Inscription: Pro [salute? ---] / Att(ius ?) Va[lerianus ?]….
