Pilaster-type funerary monument; place of discovery: Ampelum (Pătrângeni, Zlatna, Alba County); 2nd century AD.
A pilaster-type funerary monument decorated on three sides. At the top, right on the corners, the block has acroteria, and a pine cone is placed in the center, as a crown-like decoration. The decorated sides are flanked by two columns supporting semicircular arches. The busts of the deceased, a woman, a man and a child, are placed in a rectangular niche on the central part. The head of Medusa is represented in the niche under the arch. On the left lateral side, in a semi-circular niche, is the image of Attis tristis, and above it, right under the archway, we see the images of two dolphins. On the right-hand side, in the niche, is the image of a female figure, rendered frontal, standing up. Above, under the archway, a dove holds a flower in its claws.
