Funerary plaque(?); place of discovery; Mehadia (Caraș-Severin County); 2nd - 3rd century AD.
The inscription has been interpreted as the final part of an epitaph, which would have belonged to a three-year-old child. The space above the surviving text could have contained the names of other deceased members of the family, so this may be a family funerary monument. The destruction of the piece is be explained by its reuse as building material in the Mehadia Roman fort.
Inscription: [D(is) M(anibus)] / [---] / [Aure]li[us]? / [Dona]tus? / [vix( it) an]n(is)? III / [---] p(ater)? p(osuit).
