Votive altar dedicated to Mithras; place of discovery: Apulum (Alba Iulia, Alba County); 2nd - 3rd century AD.
The crown is decorated with acroteria and a triangular pediment, in the center of which is the head of Sol with nimbus and crown of rays; between the acroteria there are rosettes. On the left side of the piece is an urceus and on the right side a patera. The dedicant is Chrestion. The letter E is rendered by two parallel vertical shafts, a form also found in cursive script.
Inscription: Invicto / Myth{i}r/ae Chr/estion / v(otum) s(olvit).
