Funerary coping; place of discovery: Ampelum (Pătrângeni, Zlatna, Alba County); 2nd - 3rd century AD.
Pieces of this type were placed on top of pilasters or inside funerary enclosures. The two funerary copings at Ampelum (nos. 2 and 11) probably come from the decoration of such an enclosure. They are presumed to represent baskets containing food or some vegetable items.
